सड़क यहीं रहती है 

एक दिन शेख चिल्ली कुछ लड़कों के साथ अपने कसबे के बाहर एक पुलिया पर बैठा था, तभी एक सज्जन शहर से आये और लड़कों से पूछने लगे क्यों भाई शेख साहब के घर को कौन सी सड़क गयी है।  उस कसबे में शेख चिल्ली के पिता को सब शेख साहेब कहते थे। उस गांव में वैसे तो बहुत से शेख थे परन्तु शेख साहेब चिल्ली के अब्बाजान ही कहलाते थे। वह व्यक्ति उन्ही के बारे में पूछ रहा था वह शेख साहब के घर जाना चाहता था। 

परन्तु उस व्यक्ति ने तो लड़कों से पूछा था कि शेख साहब के घर कौन सा रास्ता जाता है इतने में वहां खड़े शेख चिल्ली के खुराफाती दिमाग में एक मजाक सूझा।  

शेख चिल्ली और आगंतुक 

उसने उस व्यक्ति से कहा कि, क्या आप यह पूछ रहे हैं कि शेख साहब के घर कौन सा रास्ता जाता है ? उस व्यक्ति ने सहमति में सर को हिलाते हुए कहा कि हाँ जी बिलकुल। 

इससे पहले कि उन लड़कों में से कोई कुछ बोल पाता शेख चिल्ली बोल पड़ा कि इन तीनों में से कोई भी रास्ता नहीं जाता है।  तो कौन सा रास्ता जाता है ? कोई नहीं, ये क्या कहते हो बेटे ? शेख साहब का यही गांव है ना ? वह इसी गांव में रहते हैं न ? 

शेख चिल्ली बोला : शेख साहब तो इसी गांव में रहते हैं पर ये सड़क और रस्ते कहीं नहीं जाते' ये यही रहते हैं और यहीं पड़े रहेंगे जाना तो आपको ही पड़ेगा इसीलिए मैंने आपसे कहा कि ये रस्ते कहीं नहीं जाते।  इतना सुनते ही सभी लड़के जोर जोर से हंसने लगे; तो शेख चिल्ली बोला कि मैं शेख साहब का बेटा चिल्ली हूँ; मै  आपको वह रास्ता बताता हूँ जिस पर चलकर आप घर तक पहुंच जाएंगे। 

व्यक्ति हँसते हुए बोला : अरे बेटा चिल्ली तू तो बड़ा समझदार और बुद्धिमान हो गया है। तू छोटा सा था जब मैं गांव आया था मैंने तुझे अपनी गोद  में खिलाया है।  मैं अपनी बेटी के रिश्ते की बात करने आया हूँ। 

फिर शेख चिल्ली और वह व्यक्ति दोनों ही आपस में बात करते हुए घर चले गए और आगे चलकर वह व्यक्ति शेख चिल्ली के ससुर बने।  

अतः आप सबने पढ़ा कि  शेख चिल्ली कितना शरारती थे; उनके दिमाग में हर समय कोई न कोई शरारत चलती ही रहती थी जिससे वह  गांव के सभी लोगों को परेशान किया करते थे और उनकी इन शरारतों को देख कर उनके साथ के लड़के उनका मजाक उड़ाते थे।

English Translation:

The Road Remains Here

One day Sheikh Chilli was sitting on a culvert outside his town with some of his companions, when a gentleman came from the city and started asking the boys Oh! Brother, which one of the road is going to Mr. Sheikh's house. Sheikh Chilli's father was called Mr. Sheikh in that town; although there were many sheikhs in that town but only Mr. Sheikh was addressed by Mr. i.e. the father of Sheikh Chilli. The gentleman was asking about him; he wanted to go to Mr. Sheikh's house.

But the person asked the boys that which of the road goes to Mr. Sheikh's house; in the meantime a naughty and funny thought stroked in the mind of Sheikh Chilli . 

Sheikh Chilli And The Gentleman 

He said to that gentleman: are you asking which path is going to Mr. Sheikh's house? The gentleman shook his head in agreement and said yes! of course!.

Before any of those boys could say anything; Sheikh Chilli said that none of these three ways go anywhere. Gentleman said shockingly what are you saying this my son then which of the way go?

This is the village of Mr. Sheikh & he lives in this village isn't he?

Sheikh Chilli said : Mr. Sheikh lives in the same village but these roads and ways don't go anywhere these roads live here & will always stay here only so, you will have to go that's why I told you already that these roads do not go anywhere. On hearing this, all the boys standing nearby him started laughing loudly; So Sheikh Chilli said that I am Mr. Sheikh's son "CHILLI" I will tell you the path on which you will reach the home by walking.

The gentleman said smilingly : Oh! son Chilli you have become a very intelligent and wise boy; you were small when I came to the village, I have fed you in my lap. Here I have come to talk about my daughter's relationship with you from your father.

Then both Sheikh Chilli and the gentleman went home talking with each other & later on the same gentleman became the father-in-law of Sheikh Chilli.

So till now you all read how mischievous Sheikh Chilli was; there were various types of pranks going in his mind all the time, he used to harass all the people of the village and seeing these mischievous deeds of Sheikh Chilli, the boys with him used to make fun of him always.
